There are no spoilers ahead. (Well, I’m going to try. This was some episode.)
This week, the contestants had a choice. If they chose, they could have a two pound advantage, but they would lose Bob and Jillian for the week. I will say that someone did choose this.
Why the HELL would you do that? You have two of the world’s BEST trainers at your service and you just throw them away for 2 lbs on week 3? Do you honestly think you have learned enough in 3 weeks to just throw away Bob and Jillian? No WAY. Do you know how long it took me to get the hang of it? Longer than 3 weeks. For real.
So, if that wasn’t enough, there was a food challenge. The winner of the food challenge got full control of the weigh-in. This is where Biggest Loser drives me nuts. I know it’s a game, but the people who are in it solely for the game drive me crazy. Of course someone won this challenge.
So, did any of you all notice how crazy it made Bob and Jillian that someone decided to play the game rather than focus on getting healthy, this early in the season? Did any of you hear what Bob said? He said, “gameplayers gain weight the weight back.”
He’s right. The winner of the first season gained his weight back. Why? He was in it just for the money. To lose weight, and get healthy, you have to change your life. This isn’t something you do for a little while, it’s how you live your life. Do I cheat and eat ice cream? Sure. Do I go out to eat and not think about calories. Sure. But at the end of the day, I know that in order to keep the body I have now, I have to keep the lifestyle I have now. And that’s just that. So, I had to agree with Bob and Jillian tonight. It’s all about the CHOICES we make. I think some lessons were learned this week.
Weigh-in? Drove me insane. That’s all I have to say about that.
On a fun note: Christy, Lisa, Christie, and I all decided to challenge each other during the episode to drinking water, doing 20 push-ups, and a 60 second squat hold. This was FUN, and I’m sure we all laughed. I know a pink robe was involved, also I was in my PJs, and I’m pretty certain a husband played along for one of the challenges. I issued a challenge for Heather to play along too while she watched since she’s on the west coast…wonder if she will. Hmm. And Thea, where were you tonight? Melissa, you get a pass for today. Brian doesn’t watch the show, but he should.
So, who wants to join us for mini-challenges next week during the show? Anyone? Come on, I dare ya!!
All I ask is if you comment, no spoilers for those who haven’t seen the episode yet! Thanks!
