Biggest Loser Week 5: Are You Kidding Me?

Seriously.  That’s all I can think right now.  Are you seriously kidding me.  I’m warning you now, there are spoilers ahead because I’m going to go on a little rant here.

So, this is the week that they split into teams.  The happy little world of Bob and Jillian training together has exited the gym, Teams Blue and Black has entered.

So, if you watched, you saw the challenge where one person would end up with control to pick the teams.  I was POSITIVE that the previews last week just wanted us to believe that Tracy won it, but she really didn’t. Have you notice they do that?  They’ll show a person’s face at weigh-in, and you’re just SURE it’s a bad weigh-in, then they cut to commercial, come back, and the person loses 12 lbs.  Stinkers.

But no, Tracy won the power to choose the teams.  And of course, she put herself on Bob’s team.  I love, love, loved Jillian’s reaction.  Jillian said she was just chickening out of the “beatings” and that she wanted to “beat her within an inch of her life”.  Did anyone else crack up at that?  Seriously, I was rolling.

Now, a smart and logical person who has already ruffled feathers in this game would try to avoid pissing people off at this point.  Not Tracy.  That girl is something else.

It’s clear to me now that Tracy is in it for the money.  She is there to play the game.  Okay, so I admit, I could use the money and would want to win too.  But here’s the difference:  to ME, the money would be the icing on the cake to getting my life back.  The people who set out to win the money first will be the ones who gain their weight back.  I believe Bob said this himself.  (Icing on the cake was probably a bad saying to use, huh? Hmm.)

Did you hear her when she said she needs to start putting her first?  Okay, yes.  She needs to put her first when it comes to her body and her health, but honestly I just could not piss people off around me to do that.  I WANT to believe that my disliking of Tracy is the reality TV peeps’ work here and that Tracy isn’t as she seems, but man she really annoys me.  I seriously disliked Vicky a couple of seasons ago, I think I seriously dislike Tracy even more.

My hope is that she gets it while on the ranch.  That the light bulb goes off.  That she realizes that her health is more important than the money.  I just don’t know if she will.

I think the contestant of the week award should go to Abby.  She was the only one not to participate in the challenge for control.  She decided that the possibility of having to eat a 1000 calorie piece of cake just wasn’t worth it.  SHE GETS IT.

So, what do you think?  Do you think Tracy will “get it” before she leaves the ranch?

Okay, you may now carry on.

Really, I can't stand her. She is so, SO insincere. So insincere.

I had a few choice words for her tonight.

I can't stand her and I don't think she is going to get it. I had the same thought about her and Vicky. Can't stand either of them.

I was shocked twice tonight. The first time was when she actually won yet ANOTHER power play challenge, and the second was when she survived the elimination. I am still amazed they didn't take advantage of the opportunity and vote her azz out!

On the update, I heard two quotes tonight that really hit me squarely between the eyes. The first was by Danny at the weigh in, and the second was by Coach Mo during his transformation moment story. I actually paused my DVR and blogged about Danny's comment as soon as I heard it.

“I'm ready to choose my direction instead of letting my direction choose me.” – Danny

“If you really want to do it, despite any injury, any sickness, anything standing in your way, you can do it.” – Coach Mo

This show made me so upset last night. I guess I was just fooling myself thinking that the show was for real during these past seasons, but apparently the drama the producers pumped into those wasn't enough in their mind, so they have gone overboard this year. I mean, seriously, does anyone actually BELIEVE that all of this stuff just “happened”?

It used to be such an inspiring show, and now, its just another reality TV joke. I realized last night that I was not going to be able to watch it any longer and it made me cry. There went a large source of my inspiration in my weight loss journey. Oh well, I need to rely on myself anyway, like Dina said.

I loved the sobfest as she chose the teams – was she crying because she was hurting people? Nah, most likely because they were angry with her. She actually frightens me. I truly think she is mentally ill.

PS. What about Shay? OMG. I leapt out of my seat I was so happy for her!

i didn't get to watch, but i'm off to the BL message board to catch up.

You know something? I totally did not like her. Until now. Well, okay, I don't like her still, but I think that there's more to it than that. There's always one person who comes across as the bad guy every season. I think it's hard to be in a group like that without personalities clashing. Or without finding someone to direct your frustration at. Also, the cameras only show part of it. And they LOVE drama. They're going to make her look as evil as possible.

Yes, I think she's got issues. No, I do not think she's got her priorities straight. Yes, I think she's just there to win the money and play the game. BUT, she had some pretty good points on this episode. First was, “Pain in temporary, but pride is forever.” Not that you can't lose your sense of pride, but it really hit home with her. And second, is she said that everyone just needs to grow up and start acting like adults. I can't tell you how often I think this. I've had 2 different sets of friends in battles lately. One set has resolved their issues, and the other is adjusting, but it was pointless. I understood all sides of the situation, but there was a total lack of communication and accepting responsibility.

Anyway, back to the show. I know they love their partners, but seriously??? This is just a game (that they CHOSE to participate in). And it's not like they're not going to see them! And if you won that opportunity to split people up, shouldn't you use it to your best advantage? I don't know. I may be wrong here, but I'm just sayin'…

Love the show, love your blog.

One thing that cracked me up from last night was how Coach Mo reacted to Tracey winning the challenge. He was spooked by it! I think it gave him the heebeegeebee's. Tracey seems very, very, insincere. Although I do think that some of those people act like children (Liz, for one), every time Tracey seems to muster up tears I only think it's for the camera and a game to try to convince people she is heartfelt. Unfortunately, she is just the kind of person that makes it very far in a game like this one. She will make it further that anyone thinks.

    Love that show!

If I could have reached through my TV screen, I would have popped her ass. I can't believe they didn't get rid of her when they had the chance. They might not get another opportunity. She's poison. UGH.
